It is a Good Friday Indeed

Jesus personally carried our sins in his body to the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right.  By his wounds we are healed.  1 Peter 2:24

Blessings to you and yours this Easter weekend!

foundation of life - built on a rock

All of us tend to build our lives on something or around something;
money..family..truth..love..insecurities..
and yes a lot of the time, even fear..
Many times I have buried my foundation under the soil where it is not seen by others,
but guess what.......
it's still there, grounding my life and actions.
Often my foundation is undependable and can send my life tumbling down after one bad storm.

This is my prayer I have grown with this year and hope you will be inspired to use it to.

Heavenly Father,
Teach me how to ground my life on YOU.
YOU are the author of my life and restorer of my broken-ness.
Help me to trust YOU alone.
To rely on YOU and seek YOU in every storm that comes across my path.
YOU are always there to take my hand and lead me across the rocky rivers and I thank YOU for the opportunity YOU so willingly give.
Lord, YOU are the only ROCK who will stand forever against any storm!!
With You and only with You, there is POWER to overcome.
Amen

In God We Still Trust

You place your hand on His Bible, when you swear to tell the Truth
His name is on our greatest Monuments, and all our money too,
And when we Pledge allegiance, there's no doubt where we stand,
There is no separation, we're one Nation under Him.

Chorus:
In God We Still Trust
Here in America
He's the one we turn to every time
The goin' gets rough
He is the source of all our Strength
The One who watches over us
Here in America
In God We Still Trust

Now there are those among us, who want to push Him out,
And erase His name from everything, this country's all about,
From the Schoolhouse to the Courthouse, they're Silencing His Word,
Now it's time for all Believers, to make our Voices heard.

In God We Still Trust,
Here in America
He's the one we turn to every time
The goin' gets rough
He is the source of all our Strength
The One who watches over us
Here in America
In God We Still Trust

Here in America
Here in America
Here in America,

In God We Still Trust
Here in America,

In God We Still Trust
Here in America

clean hands; pure heart

I have had my nose stuck between the pages of systematic theology, lexicons and interlinear Bible.
Just the way I tend to 'refresh' and 'refuel' after completing group studies.  Besides a surprise visit from my parents, we have been at the ball field!
Baseball and more baseball is all I can say!
And since a blog post isn't fun without photos here ya go..
This morning I studied Psalm 24 and thought I'd share an interesting question and answer verse that really stuck out.
Psalm 24:3-4
Who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart.
Isn't the Word just awesome?
The Lord knows our questions and I believe he always answers.
It's just my job to seek Him with everything I am and listen.
This verse is simple really..
To have clean hands, is to consider my actions.
To have a pure heart, is to be sincere and a renewed mind.

Heavenly Father,
I will choose to seek You with my whole heart so that I might recieve grace from You,
The One True God who loves the unworthy!
Amen

stop and consider....

Creation,  simply stated..
~God~
Creator Himself such excellent and power surpasses my feeble comprehension.

Father,
Open my eyes to see your miracles that surround me.
May I not miss even one.
I do not want any of Your blessings to pass by without notice.
You, the almighty God of the universe, love me with an unfailing love.
May I walk daily in the light of the one who loves me.
Amen

Time for change.
Time for seeking.
Time to listen.
Time to move toward the ultimate goal.

[Something Heavenly!]

It's time for healing time to move on
It's time to fix what's been broken too long
Time to make right what has been wrong
It's time to find my way to where I belong
There's a wave that's crashing over me
And all I can do is surrender

[Whatever You're doing INSIDE of me]

It feels like chaos but somehow there's PEACE
It's hard to surrender to what I can't see
but I'm giving in to

[something Heavenly!]

Time for a milestone
Time to begin again

[REEVALUTE who I really am]

Am I doing everything to follow Your will
Or just climbing aimlessly over these hills

[SO - SHOW ME WANT IT IS YOU WANT FROM ME]

I give everything I SURRENDER...
Time to face up
Clean this old house

[Time to breathe IN and let everything out]

That I've wanted to say for so many years
Time to release all my held back tears

[ Whatever You're doing INSIDE of me ]

It feels like chaos but I believe
You're up to something BIGGER THAN ME
Larger than LIFE

[something Heavenly!]

[ Whatever You're doing INSIDE of me ]

It feels like chaos but now I can see
This is something BIGGER THAN ME
Larger than LIFE

[something Heavenly!]

[something Heavenly!]

It's time to face up
Clean this old house

[ Time to breathe IN and let everything out!! ]

hands down,  this song has been the most powerful song that impacted my heart like a boulder!
it is my prayer that it will speak to you as well.
"restoring our souls shoulder to shoulder"

Believe | Hidden Strength

this is a devo post from the word anew 2010 posted on May 17.
Good Morning,
and a happy morning it is indeed, the Lord has blessed NWWA with yet another day of beautiful sunshine.
Indeed this is a happy monday, what a fabulous way to kick off a new week.
As I was listening to the birds sing on my deck this morning, I was drawn to Isaiah 40.
I believe the Lord has a way of pin pointing my thoughts to the exact place I need to be as I read His Word.
I know without a doubt that verse 29 is the verse my family needs right now.
Without going into much detail- my husbands brother-n-law will be going through throat cancer treatments soon.
This was of course a shock, no warning. We have been in prayer this past week, morning, noon and night.
We continue to pray for hidden strength that only the Lord can provide us with.

My prayer this morning..

"Heavenly Father,
Right now my family may not feel so courageous, Lord.
When we look at life's challenges, we feel so small and inadequate.
Yet, You promise courage and strength when we need them.
We know, in Your power, we can do remarkable things that cannot be explained.
Embracing Your strength, we can rise to great heights, overcoming challenges.
Thank you for the hidden strength only You give!"
Amen

Praise REPORT May 2011!!
It's been a year ... daily my family and I have prayed this prayer.
{No more treatments,  cancer has not returned.}

Listen,  this is a huge praise report and glory to the lord for it...
remember it's a constant battle to fight off the enemy who seeks to destroy.

My family still has a special someone in our life that has fought cancer for six years now ...
continuing to fight ...
ongoing ...
strong fight collides with strong faith ...
clinging to prayer warriors and the mighty had of the lord that is truly our HEALER!!!

May we ... Never - ever give up!

It is TIME for my SOUL to LEAP

It's TIME ...
for REALLY ...
are you READY ...
I am in awe and continue to be humbled by the hits The Word ANew is STILL recieving ...
When I started the blog in 2009,  I had no imagination big enough for what the LORD had planned for it.  I simply started it as a means for communicaton with my bible study small group.
I am moving The blog content here and will be adding new content as well.
2010 and moving forward still into 2011 has spun my everlovin head into complete understanding of what it truly means to live under the Lords Grace!
Complete ...

below is a devo post archived from the word anew blog 2010.
Happy morning,
Today my heart is drawn to Psalm 37. The LORD moves when He is good and ready.
And yes, His ready isn't always My ready.
I remember the exact moment the Lord spoke to my heart,
-well-
more like he smacked me with a 2x4 in order to get my attention.
This year...New Years Day 2010 to be exact.
Ever since then I have been on an intense journey-
searching and striving to fullfill the calling that He has placed on my life.
It's now May and let me tell ya,
His timing is perfect and as I live every day pursuing His will on my life,
things are happening right before my very eyes.
He is Mighty, Powerful and Nothing will stand against Him and His plan.

[ I pray someone can relate to what I'm trying to say here. ]

There is a point I have grown to in my life,
where He is in total control of every situation and I must trust Him, no matter the outcome.
He has moved my life in a direction that I knew I would get to sooner or later, I just kept clinging to my 'comfort zone' and not heeding to the 'out of my comfort zone' area I was supposed to go.
I have come to the conclusion that He alone knows the inmost personal desires of my heart and will mold my heart and desires in order to reflect His glory through me.
He is most powerful through me when I am weak in the area he chooses to use me.
I hope I have shared my feelings and thoughts here without confusing you...
Just know that I am certain the Lord is doing a good work inside you and me no matter our situation.

[ According to the Believer's Bible Commentary ... ]

But suppose you have had great desires to carry on a certain ministry for the Lord.
You feel confident that He has been leading you,
and your only desire is to glorify Him.
Yet a powerful adversary has opposed, blocked, and thwarted you at every bend in the road.

What do you do in a case like this?

The answer is that you delight yourself also in the Lord,
knowing that in His own time He shall give you the deisres of your heart.

It is not necessary for you to fight back.

"The battle is not yours, but God's!" 2 Chron. 20:15

"The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace!" Ex. 14:14

To my church girls and sweet note card takers,
Take down both of these verses and speak them over yourselves.
Please leave a comment and share your own verses,
I would love to hear from you.
Power in the Word of God!
I adore you ...

Restoration | One Little Word 2011

Restoration... my 2011 word!!

Digital Scrapbook. Homeschool. Bookshelf.

I am combining all three of my blogs into one.
Easier for me to keep track of and hopefully for you too.

embrace. lifes. journey.

New blog all about embracing life, soul restoration and little moments that impact the biggest!

One Little Word 2011 | Restoration

Ladies, my dear sweet ladies.... online and on-site!
I am so thankful for each of you...
know that not a moment goes by I don't think of you!

The days have been long, busy, full of hope and busy.  Oh, I mentioned that.
Ok, well, I do realize there is no excuse for my slacking on the posts here.

My life has been a whirlwind of adventure since our move outta state.
We love our new life here in Oklahoma.  Adjusting to change is never easy.
We have been praying, focusing, soul renewing and searching.  To the point our soul restoration is should I say complete, no never complete,  fullfilling and satisfying. YES.
I had a couple of sweet ladies leave a note on facebook asking about The Inheritance study.
Another regarding my New Year Resolutions 2010, if I was writing one for 2011.
The answer is YES...I have wrestled with the idea of Resolutions and therefore, I haven't complied an entire study worthy of posting.  My thoughts wander away from Resolutions...Resolutions was my first written study of 2010....which was TRULY the year that changed my entire families LIFE!  That study is so tender to my heart.  {Always will be!} At that moment -January 1, 2010-I had no idea what was taken place or what was gonna take place.  I just knew I was being prepped for something GREAT!  and....I was just runnin with it.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  The morning I lit
erally set my feet on the floor running.  My mind racing, my heart pounding, my hands shaking with anticipation.

As my opening Session 1 will prove....
I was to take on something to great for me to do without a higher power.

I will never forget my husbands response when he listened to me babble on about what my exhaustive concordance had to say about hebrew and greek words.
After I had run by him the topic and what I felt led to write about.
He said "Go for it!"  "You won't catch something by watching it pass by!"
This is exactly why I love my man so much, he adds the supportive factor into my life. :)
Let me just say,  by the time I finished the entire 7 session New Year Resolutions 2010.
He now understands a few hebrew and greek words and has pushed a vines dictionary, side by side study, study resources, topical guides, commentarie{s} *emphasis added*, notepads, laptop, uncountable post-its, pencils, highlighers......
ok, so you must get the idea
He has pushed these above items onto my side of the bed and slowly crawled in without me even knowing. :)

I'm up to something AGAIN!
This time I am in the current season of restoration rather than resolution.
Please watch for the key word..
"RESTORATION"
So bookmark this blogs new url..

It is currently my digital scrapbook blog,
The Word Anew will be joining forces as one blog.
Bare with me as I tackle this move and hope noone gets lost in the shuffle!

Anticipation Expectation | Welcome 2011!!

Well, 2011 is finally here!
The anticipation, expectations of the new start, fresh, renewing moments have begun! Raeleen and I just posted our scriptures for SSMT over at the LPM blog and our besides ourselves!  Raeleen's very first verse to memorize in 2011 is Proverbs 15:13.
Mine is Psalm 90:17.

One little word I'm clinging to: Restoration.

You will notice changes around my blog over the next few days, as I have been working behind the scenes updating my blog design.
Also joining all three of my blogs (the word anew and joyful homeschool)into one, here.. (embracing life's journey), this blog you are reading on right now will be my one and only.
I will be posting all 'archives' and nothing you follow will be lost in the shuffle.
I will do my best to be available with any 'navigation' issues you may come across.

Only you can SAVE!

I saw a man today, his whole world across his back
A living monument opposed to my success
I tried to look into his eyes as his shuffled past my car
Sweat beading on his skin, his clothes and hair a mess
As the light turned green and I pulled away, he slowly disappeared
Just a memory of another chance I failed to show your love here
I wanna love because You love
I wanna give because You gave
I wanna reach my hand out to the lost
because I know Your hand can save
Only You can save
Only You can save
Sometimes I have to wonder if I really want to know
The struggle and the pain that others feel
Do I want to hear the stories I see echoed in their eyes
Or is this love I say that I’m reflecting even real
As the light turns on inside my head and I slowly disappear
I steel myself cuz what you call for me is to show your love here…
I wanna love because You love
I wanna give because You gave
I wanna reach my hand out to the lost
because I know Your hand can save
Only You can save
Only You can save
(Save) Let me be Your hands
(Only You can save) Let me be your eyes
(Only you can save) Help me understand
(Only you can save)
That I’m Your hands and feet hidden behind this frail human disguise
I wanna love because You love
I wanna give because You gave
I wanna reach my hand out to the lost
because I know Your hand will save
Cuz only You can save
Cuz only You can save
Cuz only You can save

Blessed | Amazing Sunset

Driving home the other day.
We seen the most wonderful sunset!
It was mouth dropping awesome.
Thank you Lord for all you have made.
Blessed be your glorious name,
exalted above all blessing and praise!
You're the one,
God, you alone;
You made the heavens,
the heavens of heavens,
and all angels;
The earth and everything on it,
the seas and everything in them;
You keep them all alive;
heaven's angels worship you!
Nehemiah 9:5-6 MSG

Devotion | Matthew 7

This is my prayer I have grown with this year and hope you will be inspired to use it to.

Father,
Teach me how to ground my life on YOU.
Lord,
YOU are the only ROCK who will stand forever against any storm!!
With You and only with You,
there is POWER to overcome.

Devotion | Psalm 73

Choosing God over anything else in the world?

I love Psalm 73.
Uplifting, Encouraging and Motivational.
No doubt about it! God is good—
good to good people, good to the good-hearted.
But I nearly missed it,
missed seeing his goodness.
I was looking the other way,
looking up to the people
At the top,
envying the wicked who have it made,
Who have nothing to worry about,
not a care in the whole wide world.

Pretentious with arrogance,
they wear the latest fashions in violence,
Pampered and overfed,
decked out in silk bows of silliness.
They jeer, using words to kill;
they bully their way with words.
They’re full of hot air,
loudmouths disturbing the peace.
People actually listen to them—can you believe it?
Like thirsty puppies, they lap up their words.

What’s going on here? Is God out to lunch?
Nobody’s tending the store.
The wicked get by with everything;
they have it made, piling up riches.
I’ve been stupid to play by the rules;
what has it gotten me?
A long run of bad luck, that’s what—
a slap in the face every time I walk out the door.

If I’d have given in and talked like this,
I would have betrayed your dear children.
Still, when I tried to figure it out,
all I got was a splitting headache . . .
Until I entered the sanctuary of God.
Then I saw the whole picture:
The slippery road you’ve put them on,
with a final crash in a ditch of delusions.
In the blink of an eye, disaster!
A blind curve in the dark, and—nightmare!
We wake up and rub our eyes. . . . Nothing.
There’s nothing to them. And there never was.

When I was beleaguered and bitter,
totally consumed by envy,
I was totally ignorant, a dumb ox
in your very presence.
I’m still in your presence,
but you’ve taken my hand.
You wisely and tenderly lead me,
and then you bless me.

You’re all I want in heaven!
You’re all I want on earth!
When my skin sags and my bones get brittle,
God is rock-firm and faithful.
Look! Those who left you are falling apart!
Deserters, they’ll never be heard from again.
But I’m in the very presence of God—
oh, how refreshing it is!
I’ve made Lord God my home.
God, I’m telling the world what you do!

Clean hands; Pure heart

This morning I studied Psalm 24 and thought I'd share an interesting question and answer verse that really stuck out.

Psalm 24:3-4
Who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart.

Isn't the Word just awesome.
The Lord knows our questions and I believe he always answers.
It's just my job to seek Him with everything I am and listen.
This verse is simple really..
To have clean hands, is to consider my actions.
To have a pure heart, is to be sincere and a renewed mind.

I will choose to seek You with my whole heart
so that I might receive grace from You Father,
The One True God who loves the unworthy!
Amen
