Homeschool | Happy Pumpkin Carving

Hello Pumpkin Carving!

I can tell it's Fall....

Fall....
I can tell it's Fall....
by the pumpkin spice scent lingering around my house.
by the cool morning air.
by the sight of all things orange.
by the face Halloween is near.
by the holiday decor on store shelves.
by the cinnamon stick smell that surrounds the display of Christmas trees.

But it really doesn't seem right to have a Fall without....
the leaves that fall.
the colors they display.
the order they change.

This year, even today as we drove through some pretty countryside.
The trees are living up to Green Country.
There are not to many colors to browse upon.
Only a few leaves on the ground.

November is quickly approaching.
Maybe the colors I will see then.

Preparing for the holidays + house building is just that. BUSY.

52 Weeks in Chipboard Freebie

Last week I created "52 Weeks in Chipboard" for Project Life.  Shortly after I put it up on my facebook page as a freebie.  The response was overwhelming.
On to the good news.....
This week I have a new freebie on my page, but felt like the popularity of "52 Weeks in Chipboard" was still going strong on pinterest and instagram so I'm giving it away here on the blog.
Woot!
Click below to download. No tricks, No hoops to jump through, No steps to climb... Just click.

Project Life | Week Forty-Two

Gasp! Week forty-two! Hard to believe there are only ten more weeks till 2013!
Seems really odd  yet exciting to type that ....
Our week was a simple one.
Fast at work finishing up details around the house, preparing for the holidays.
The goal is to get it together so no major work is happening during Christmas. :)
So excited about the mantel.  Perfect timing.  Looking forward to decorating it during the holidays.
A bit of craftyness, cheap gas, and big smiles surround this week.

Project Life | Week Forty-One

Welcome to Week 41.  I am currently playing catch up.
Week 42 probably would be posted today, but I made a fun detour (side track) to create a freebie.
Left Side:
Around here snapshots.  We have yet found a pumpkin patch around here.  You would think the mid-west would have huge - even -amazing farm.  WA state has my little town in OK beat to pieces. (so sad) but true.
Right Side:
More around here shots:  Normal day in day out living, not really going anywhere out of the ordinary this week.  House stuff.  Shoe shopping for my two teen boys.  We have been through three sizes this year. If they ever grow into their feet!  Reminds me of a puppy. Huge paws and little muzzle.  Ok, do me a favor and forget I said that.
Moving on... here's a closeup.
and here's your FREEBIE!
My side track this morning.  I created the Week 41 out of chipboard then topped it with stitching.  Then saved it in photoshop so I could use it for Week 42, which is still in the works.  But then it hit me, I love it and thought maybe you would love it too.  So I clicked Week 42 to a side file and created Weeks 1 - 52 for you. True Story.

Cool mornings curled up on the front porch sipping hot coffee. Yes!

Good morning sweater weather.

Going somewhere,  be sure to grab a sweatshirt.

A Simple Fall wreath | DIY

A Simple Fall Fabric Wreath
What you need:
Fabric (I used fabric quarters in four different fall designs.)
Floral ring (There are styrofoam, wire, wicker.  I used wicker for durablity)
Ribbon
Scissors
Pencil
Ruler
What you do:
If you use quarters like I did, simply lay it out and measure and mark strips the width of the ruler.  Approx. one inch.
Cut.
This may take a little while, but worth it when all your strips are laying out in front of you.
Put your strips in the order you want them on your wreath. Get ready to tie.
Start tieing a simple double knot.  Strip after strip.  Making sure to turn the fabric so the pattern is showing.
Keep going.
Almost there.
Tie your ribbon and hang!

Project Life | Week Forty

Welcome to Week Forty!  Gosh, it's a shock to type that.  I am so thrilled that I made it this far.  I love the simplicity of this project.  I really do.
About this week:
House building project finishing up.  Not really any down time for 'extras'.  Follow me on instagram for more into my everyday.  Also my around here posts will give a little insight.
I try not to add house and school snapshots to project life.  I am hoping to keep it just about us, more on a personal level.

I've mentioned before how I love the photos themselves to tell the story.  I do love to add a few words. I'm a lover of word art and short fun, sometimes inspirational quotes.  I believe there is no need for a long drawn out emotional journaling saga in the family album.  That's what my personal journal is for. Just sayin.
