Lunch a the park + ducks

Sometimes the best thing to do is run away to the park with a little McDonalds.
A time to relax and take in all the stillness.
And quacking of the ducks as they run around the picnic table desperately seeking french fries.

A catcher jumped to catch the ball and landed on top Ruger. (see photo on right side) He wasn't injured, just a good ole' catchers knee pad to the side of the face, that's all. I hate that this happened, but I love the photo. If you look closely you can see his eyes squinting.
Left Side:
Photoshop Tips & Tricks:
I removed the background from three photos.
I adjusted the baseball and mitt to a 50% opacity and placed them under the journaling.
The card to the right I warped the text to give a bit of dimension on the card.
Right Side:
Photoshop Tips & Tricks:
The Dad Fest photo was taken at our Church.
The photo of Jeff was taken with my phone while he was driving.  Sometimes that's all I can get.

Digital Project Life | Week Twenty-Three + A Freebie

I want to thank all of you for the well wishes and thoughts about my aunt who recently passed. I have slowly been completing the weeks I have skipped that hold photos of my aunt.  I will be finishing those project life pages, they will be displayed in the completed 2013 album only. No details will be shared in a blog post on its own. I hope you will understand how I must respect my families privacy during those weeks.
You can read my first post about my aunt here,  a few more here, here, here, and here
Welcome to Digital Project Life, week twenty-three.
I am thrilled to be on top of this project once again.
Week of: June 3-9.

Highlights: Baseball. Family Renunion.
Lowlights: My Uncle Busters funeral.
Journaling:
I had more photos to use this week.  For the baseball photos I used one of my templates that holds 12 - 3x4 photos. Just photos, that's all I choose to have. I'm a believer in allowing the photos to tell the story.
The main journaling is on the 4x12 insert. I used my Tabbed Days journal cards right on the 4x6 inserts, sized down to fit 2 on each space. Rather than the normal 3x4 space where I used for photos.
Below, you see where I talked about baseball that took place on Monday.
Sunday was our family reunion.
Friday I mentioned my Uncles funeral.
Saturday I journaled a bit about my cousins get together at the park.

Right Side:
I created a 4x6 collage 4 spot of Jeff.  Added the "heart" you by Ali , one of her old free downloads.
Love the photo of my older boys with the overlay hello brother.
The week 23 title, I added directly to the sky photo.
The photo in the top right was taken at our family reunion, I added the word art 'family is forever'.  The orange rose I am holding while on the way home after my Uncles funeral.  My favorite snapshot taken with my phone while laying on my front porch looking up under my hanging basket.  The bottom left photo is of my Dad with Raeleen.
Insert Back Side:
I simply filled the template with some of the seafoam filler cards. Then added a couple of collages of random snapshots.
